Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the atreoLINK service. It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. We may update this AUP from time to time and will notify you of material changes.
2. Prohibited Uses
You may not use atreoLINK to:
2.1 Illegal Activity
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or legal obligation
- Facilitate the distribution of illegal content
- Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
2.2 Harmful Content
- Serve or distribute malware, viruses, or other malicious software through your server
- Host phishing pages or scam websites on your subdomain
- Distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Distribute content that promotes violence or terrorism
2.3 Abuse of Infrastructure
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks or other network attacks
- Use the remote access tunnel as a general-purpose relay, proxy, or VPN service for third parties or the public internet
- Send unsolicited push notifications, or use the push channel for marketing or spam
- Attempt to bypass rate limits or other service restrictions
- Resell or redistribute the service without authorisation
- Use automated tools to create accounts in bulk
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
2.4 Subdomain Abuse
- Register subdomains impersonating brands, public figures, or services you do not represent
- Use subdomains for typo-squatting or to deceive visitors
3. Intended Use
atreoLINK is designed for small groups of people who know each other — your household, your family and friends, or the internal team of a small business or organisation — sharing apps and services running on hardware you control. We expect reasonable usage consistent with this purpose. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that consume excessive resources that negatively impact other users.
Relay fallback and fair use. The CGNAT relay exists as a fallback to keep your server reachable when it has no usable public inbound path. It is not a general-purpose bandwidth, proxy, or VPN service, and relay throughput is throttled and not guaranteed. Relay usage on the free plan is throttled more heavily than on paid plans and is subject to fair use: where relay usage is excessive, sustained, or negatively affects other users or our infrastructure, we may rate-limit it further, temporarily restrict it, or discontinue relay access for the account. Traffic that has a usable direct path between your devices and your server does not transit the relay and is not affected by these limits.
4. Reporting Abuse
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to reportabuse@atreolabs.com. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
5. Enforcement
If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Issue a warning
- Temporarily suspend your account or specific features
- Permanently terminate your account
- Report the activity to law enforcement if required or appropriate
For serious violations (such as illegal content or active attacks), we may act immediately without prior notice. For less severe violations, we will generally provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to address the issue before taking action.
